Baby Boy Shoes

Soft shoes for baby boys, sized by age from 0 to 18 months. Fabric and faux leather in roughly equal share, with some leather, and a good number of pairs where the material varies by model.

Three things to check, and nothing else

At this age the shoe is not doing much work. It should stay on, bend freely and go on fast.

1. The ankle
   An elastic or a soft strap that keeps the shoe on a kicking foot. This is the whole difference between a pair you use and a pair you lose.

2. The sole
   Soft enough to fold in your hand. A pre-walker does not need anything rigid underneath.

3. The material, for the season
   Fabric breathes in summer, faux leather wipes clean year round, and the leather pairs are the softest to the touch.

Buying by age, buying by foot

The months on the label are an average, not a measurement. Measure the foot, add a small amount of room, and ignore the chart if the two disagree.

Babies grow in bursts. Buying two sizes up rarely works, because the shoe falls off for three months and then fits for three weeks.
