Wedge Loafers

A wedge is a heel and a sole in one piece, so there is nothing to balance on and nothing to sink into grass. A small rack, mostly faux leather with some leather, and all of it cut for women.

Why people come back to the wedge

It solves the one problem a heel never solves, which is standing on uneven ground for hours.

1. Steady on anything

2. The weight is spread
   Your foot is not tipped onto the ball, so the ache that usually arrives around hour four does not.

3. It reads softer than a heel
   Same height, less formality. A wedge goes with denim in a way a block heel never quite does.

Reading the height properly

Look at the gap between the front of the sole and the back, not the total. A wedge with a thick front is almost flat to walk in, whatever the number at the heel says.
