Green Loafers

Green is the color that surprises people the most, and it is far easier to wear than they expect. Mostly men's, mostly suede, running from a deep forest to a brighter grass green.

Two greens, two jobs

The depth of the green decides whether the shoe is a neutral or an accent.

  1. Deep green
In suede this behaves almost like navy. It goes with gray, with denim, with brown and with camel, and most people read it as dark before they read it as green.

  2. Bright green
An accent, and a good one in summer. Everything else plain, and it works. Next to another strong color it does not.

What it is made of

Around a third of this rack is suede and another sixth is synthetic suede. That matters, because green looks flat in a shiny finish and deep in a matte one. The faux leather pairs here are the brighter end.

For a garden wedding or a summer event outdoors, a deep green suede with a grippy sole is one of the better calls you can make.
