Blue covers more ground than any other color here: deep navy through to bright cobalt, in suede, faux leather and a few denim pairs. Split fairly evenly between women, men and kids.

Treating blue as one color is the mistake. The shade decides whether the pair is a neutral or a statement.
Navy
Behaves like black but softer. It works with a suit, with jeans and with gray, and it is the blue to buy first.

Mid blue
The most summery of the three. Best in suede, where the color has some depth, and best against beige or white.

Bright blue
A real accent. One per outfit, everything else plain, and it looks like a decision rather than an accident.
Around a third of this rack is faux leather and around a fifth is suede, with fabric, leather and a few denim pairs behind them. Blue holds up particularly well in suede, which is why so much of the good color here is on that side.
A word of warning on pale blue suede: it marks easily and the mark shows more than on a dark color. Keep it for dry days.
